The Internet is considered one of the most revolutionary inventions in the world. That lead to the creation of social media, or social networking sites (SNSs), in which it have been changing the way humans communicate, think, act, do business, and etc. SNSs refers to websites that are designed to allow people to share content (photos, videos, opinions, events) quickly, efficiently, and in real-time. Ahh, the Internet... It's crazy to think the number of things we can do with just a click. Digital Communication has been developed each year and presents tons of new technological advances. I believe that Photography has connected us and changed the way we portray the world. Some of the most interesting aspects of photography I wanted to mention are the new "culture of photography" and how, nowadays, the number of amateurs photographers grew immensely due to the high quality of cameras on smartphones. I think that it is great that people are trying to learn a new skill and benefit from that, since "self-employment is a survival mechanism," as the textbook says in chapter 17. The only thing that I get concerned about is how "perfect" pictures affect people's self-esteem and how much further people would be willing to go in terms of editing their photos and change their body image just to fit into society's standards.
